Infrastructure Information

Albany County runs on the South border, from the Colorado, Wyoming state line, to within 35 miles from Douglas, WY on the north border.  The county road infrastructure includes:

A)  534 miles of gravel roads (299 miles north of Rock River and 235 miles in the Laramie area). This is about equal to the distance between Laramie and Wendover, NV.

B)  43 miles of paved roads 

C)  1,277 culverts

D)  332 cattle guards

E)  25 bridges

F)  3.2 miles of snow fence  

The Road and Bridge Department at present consists of 8 equipment operators, a mechanic, an office manager, and a superintendent. (8 in Laramie and 3 in Rock River).
