2015 Slamfest Demolition Derby
Rules and Entry Form
The Albany County Fairgrounds provides facilities for many different events throughout the year. Local organizations and individuals enjoy the close proximity to the city while still getting a bit of space to let loose and be loud. Located just 1 mile south of Interstate 80 the Albany County Fairgrounds can facilitate you and your large group needs. Our facilities include a large Activities Building that can be split into several smaller areas and includes a full kitchen. This is the perfect venue for your upcoming event whether it be community meeting, reunion, wedding reception, car show or non-profit fundraiser. But that’s not all, come check out any of our smaller out buildings that are great for barn dances, animal events, community gatherings; whatever your imagination can dream up. The Albany County Fairgrounds also has several stalls for rent on a short term basis and limited facility motorhome slots available for both short and long term rentals. With lots of wide open spaces and amazing views of the Snowy Range to the West and the Laramie Range to the east the Albany County Fairgrounds is your perfect stop for any small or large event you have in mind.
Hosting the Albany County Fair is a large portion of what we do around here at the Fairgrounds. For 10 days in August the entire property turns into a complete zoo; literally. We have all sorts of animals, both 2 legged and 4, that travel from near and far to compete in the ultimate youth contests of the county. Fair week, as dubbed by the many families that participate, is a crazy fun filled time of making memories, learning life-long lessons and enjoying the company of friends and family. The 4-H and FFA youth that compete in the many youth contests prepare for this event all year long. They spend countless hours learning and practicing for this one event. Don’t get us wrong there are lots of tears, heartache and failures at fair; but that is all a part of life. We invite the community to join us by participating in any of our Open Class competitions too. You could enter your famous canned peaches or momma’s secret brownies or maybe showoff your outstanding quilting skills. Whatever fits your fancy come join in the fun, share your skills and check out what the Albany County youth are capable of, they will knock your socks off.
